XZA Events and Competitions

1. The Microbiology Association of Xavier’s, Mumbai in collaboration with the Xavier’s Association of Botany and Xavier’s Zoology Association are thrilled to unveil an exciting opportunity for all aspiring scientists, budding artists, and curious minds – the Microscopy Marvels Competition! Delve into the extraordinary world that lies beyond our immediate sight and showcase your talents in unravelling the mysteries of the microscope. Registrations are open. Date – 11th December 2023 ; Venue – Zoology Lab

2. The ninth edition of IMPRINT, themed CHROMA, welcomes abstracts focusing on topics like camouflage, bioluminescence, iridescence, aposematism and more. Last date to submit abstracts – 15th December 2023. 

3. IMPRINT also invites you to submit your best zoology related doodles, comic strips, illustrations and sketches for their illustration competition – Oh Zoodles! Deadline – 31st December 2023.

1. Workshop on Molecular Biology organised by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and Wildlife & Conservation Biology Research Foundation. To Acquire practical/hands-on experience and skill set for wildlife species identification.

3. A conference on ‘Molluscs of South Asia’ is scheduled to take place at the Royal Orchid Resort and Convention Centre, Bangalore from 11th December – 13th December 2023. Register here.

4. Basic Course in Field Ornithology and Bird Migration Studies by BNHS India from 15th to 17th December 2023. The last day to register is 10th December 2023. Register here.

5. From Crisis to Conservation Workshop: The Wildlife Rescue Experience hosted by Sustaina Greens LLP. The session will be held on December 11th 2023, Monday at 4:00 P.M. The session will go live on the Sustaina Greens LLP YouTube page.

13. The Nagapattinam Wildlife Division is calling for enthusiastic individuals to join as volunteers for activities during the upcoming sea turtle migratory season from December 2023 to February 2024. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the conservation of Olive Ridley Turtles and the overall health of the wetland ecosystem. Register here. • Kaziranga National Park

 This is the ideal time to visit Assam to encounter Rhinos, Gangetic dolphins, Tigers, Asiatic Elephant and a list of birds

• Kanha National Park – December is the beginning of the rut season for Barasingha deer. This is also a good time to see colourful migratory birds. 
• Keoladeo National Park – It is famous for its winter migratory birds, including gadwalls (dabbling ducks) and pelicans.

Migrations

• The Indian Pitta that breeds in the Himalayan ranges migrates from Central India to the South to escape the harsh winters.
